Biography

With her unique style and inspirational character, singer song writer, Sam has captured the attention of audiences up and down the length of the UK.

Growing up in Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire, her father exposed her to a wide range of music early on. He took her to music festivals, folk clubs and gigs from an early age and as a result Sam has been writing and performing for over 15 years.

Sam Holmes cites her musical heroes and inspirations from the world of folk and rock as diverse as Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell, Carole King and Amy McDonald. These influences, although not derided from, can be heard in the craftsman ship of her songs, and the delicate romantic nature of the lyrics.

Sam's largest live audience to date has been in front of more than 20,000 people in 2006 at Cropredys Fairport Convention festival. Whilst working on her album she has performed on BBC radio several times.

On the album Sam is accompanied by George Shilling (Cello), Andy Nowak (Guitar, Piano, Double Bass, Accordion), Jeff Spencer (Bass), Jane Bartholomew (Backing Vocals), Matt Jones (Drums), and Ben Bennion (Acoustil and Electric Guitar).
